Toronto’s Entertainment District has been through a dramatic evolution. Beginning as a booming industrial district, then developing into a lively neighbourhood with a dynamic nightlife, the Entertainment District has just undergone what may be its most significant transformation yet.
Beckoning residents to the city’s core, Toronto’s decade-long condo boom has replaced clubs with condos, and the Entertainment District has been redefined as one of the city’s most sought after locations to live.
Beginning as a thriving industrial district, and then pounding with a dynamic nightlife scene, the Entertainment District has just undergone what may be its most significant transformation yet. Toronto’s condo boom has beckoned residents to the city’s core over the last decade. The area’s explosive growth has seen clubs replaced with condos and Toronto’s Entertainment District is moving into its second act.
Zark Fatah has been part of a decades-long evolution in the Entertainment District that began, for him, working as a nightclub bartender in the mid-’90s. Back then, recalls Fatah — now a partner in Capture Group, the firm behind high-profile downtown spots such as nightclub Maison Mercer, Hammam Spa and Blowfish Restaurant — Toronto had just a handful of clubs.
Lifetime Developments releases the final units of their highly touted project, The Bond Condominiums, with an aim of connecting residents to the community
Last fall, Lifetime Developments launched the Connect and Capture photo contest to celebrate the success of The Bond Condominiums, currently under construction in the heart of Toronto’s Entertainment District. People in the community were encouraged to submit photos of the Entertainment District using the #BondTO hashtag on Instagram while sharing what they found unique about the area. The developer also matched a $1 donation for each use of the hashtag to go towards Lifeline
On the north side of Adelaide Street just west of John in Toronto’s Entertainment District, construction is progressing on Lifetime Developments’ The Bond, a 42-storey Core Architects-designed condominium tower that will add 369 residential units to the area. The building’s podium is taking shape, with work now under way on the fifth and sixth levels.
The Entertainment District’s transformation from a post-industrial rough-around-the-edges club district into a densely-populated mostly vertical mixed-use neighbourhood continues with the construction of The Bond, a 40-storey Core Architects-designed condominium tower by Lifetime Developments. The 369-unit condo tower is currently rising on the north side of Adelaide Street, just west of John Street, with concrete and steel now standing over one floor above street level.

Brian Brown knows the Entertainment District well. The vice-president of Lifetime Developments is on his third project in the downtown Toronto neighbourhood. The Bond Condominiums, well into construction, has a bustling Adelaide and John location. “As far as life and activity and being at the centre of so many different tractions, it’s a fantastic area,” Mr. Brown says. “It’s exciting and a great place to live.”
It has been quite some time since we last checked in on the construction progress of Lifetime Developments’ The Bond, a 40-storey Core Architects-designed condominium development under construction on Adelaide Street, just west of John. Construction work on the 369-unit condo tower has brought it up to just below grade, so it is only a matter of a couple weeks before the building’s ground level will be taking shape.
If you’re interested in living in the heart of the city, you’ll be happy to hear that construction is off to a smooth start at The Bond Condos, located at 290 Adelaide Street West. The new project by Lifetime Developments is showing steady progress, and we have the pictures to prove it!
A new, sleek and sophisticated condo is coming to the Entertainment District.Introducing ‘The Bond’, a condominium tower that will bring a fresh new look to the corner of Adelaide St. West and John St.“The Bond Condominiums is Lifetime’s 3rd project in the Entertainment District. The Bond Condos may be a nod to the venerable SIS agent James, or else a reference to our collective and persistent affinity (‘bond’) for 400-something-square-foot living spaces. I’m still not sure. According to developers, The Bond is a “connection, a destination, a state of mind.” Which, still, tells me nothing. How can a condo tower be a state of mind?
We don’t know about you, but after The Bond unveiled their special leaseback opportunity in December, we were sure they’d run out of awesome promo and incentive ideas. We were cool with that since The Bond has done more than most in terms of special incentives and innovative campaigns. So naturally we were surprised when we heard that The Bond still has an ace up its sleeve.

Lifetime Developments is releasing new units in The Bond, their Core Architects-designed 40-storey condominium tower in Toronto’s Entertainment District. The units make up what is called The City Collection, and they appear on the top five floors of the tower, as well as some terraced units below. Lifetime now has images of the great views residents will have from a 40th floor unit.
Hey everyone, did you know there’s a new James Bond film hitting theatres next year? Daniel Craig is reprising his role as the more emotionally vulnerable Bond and Javier Bardem (aka. the guy who gave you nightmares in No Country For Old Men) will play the villain.
Over the past few months we’ve formed a special, uhh, bond with The Bond Condominiums. They just always seem to have big news about the project, whether it’s a sweet new rendering or an innovative contest. That’s why we were thrilled to hear that the Lifetime Developments project would be holding it’s grand opening this weekend.
So we meet again Mr. Bond…. It seems like there’s a fresh update every week from The Bond Condos, the new 41 storey development by Lifetime at 290 Adelaide Street. And it probably seems like that because literally every week we’ve had something new to show you. This week is no exception…
The Bond condominiums in central Toronto will be celebrating their grand opening this coming weekend. UrbanToronto stopped by the sales office at 290 Adelaide Street West for the Lifetime Develpments project recently to get a good look at the scale model.
